Thank you for your interest in St. John the Apostle Catholic School. To help streamline the application process, review and complete the following steps below. Please contact the school with any questions during the admissions process.

New Student Admission Process


STEP ONE: Pre-Admission

 School Tour – Schedule with office

 Complete New Student Application – Include $25 application fee.

Current Report Card – Bring a copy of student’s most recent report card and/or contact information for current teacher or principal.

 PreK-1st Grade – Visit with principal. Principal will contact current school if applicable.

 2nd – 8th Grade – Shadow Visits
      – Attend two days of class at SJA
      – Bring Shadow Emergency Contact Form
      – $25 Shadow Fee, includes lunch at SJA

 Evaluation and Admission Approval – Parents will be notified by phone, letter or email.

STEP TWO: After Admission Approval

When approved to attend SJA, the school office will provide you with a registration code and a link to our online registration site. If the child is a transfer student, also submit a School Records Request form to SJA. See sidebar on right to print form.

If there is not an opening in the class, then you will be put on the waiting list following the Admission Policy.

Admission Policy

New Student Applications are accepted throughout the year, and an initial pool of applicants will be created. Depending on enrollment, there may be a wait list. Application forms need to be completed and turned in at the open house or to the school office. Using the results of the teacher assessment, past standardized test scores, report cards and any other pertinent information, the Principal will determine if the school is a good match for the child/ren, particularly in the school’s ability to serve the needs of the child.

Admissions for the following school year usually takes place in early May.

Returning SJA students will begin registration for the school year in March . Once they have registered, other students will be offered enrollment using the following priority –

1. Families with children already enrolled
2. Active members of SJA Catholic Community
3. Active members of other Catholic parishes
4. Open to the public

Returning SJA Students

Complete Intent to Enroll Form and return in January. Registration for returning SJA families is in March. Please watch the white envelope and calendar for registration dates.
