Extended Care operates on a drop-in basis for the convenience of parents and to provide a safe place for students when parents are delayed to pick up from school activities. A copy of school enrollment forms will be kept for Extended Care records for all students at SJA. We refer to the enrollment forms regularly, so please keep your information current. SCHOOL DISMISSAL is from 3:05 – 3:15pm. Students who have NOT been picked up by 3:15 will be checked into Extended Care. If you are late to pick up your student from an after school activity, he/she will be checked-in to E.C. in the cafeteria. The minimum fee is $1, per child. Please notify the E.C. staff when you pick-up your child. Be sure to sign-out on the student’s timesheet in our notebook. Please round the time to the nearest five-minute increment and sign your name. We will only release your child to those authorized by you according to the student’s enrollment form. Identification may be requested. Please send a note or call the school or Lisa Hanson to verbally authorize any special arrangements. School policy states that no child will be allowed to wait any place other than Extended Care. This is not only for the protection of the student, but also for the peace of mind for the delayed parent. Your child’s safety is important to us! All students are enrolled in Extended Care. The Extended Care Program operates after school on regular school days from 3:05pm – 6:00pm. Extended Care is provided on early dismissal days from 11:30am – 6:00pm. Students need a sack lunch. The program does NOT operate on school holidays, snow days and emergency closures. SJA School will follow the Oregon City School District closures and delayed openings. In the event of early closure, there will be NO Extended Care. It is extremely important that you keep emergency information up to date! Schedule

4:00 homework time or free play
6:00 Extended Care closes Our hourly rate is $3.50 hr/per child. Minimum fee is $1, per child. Our closing time is 6:00pm. Any care given later than this is considered overtime and you will be charged $1 per minute, per child. Billing is sent out from the Parish Office monthly. Billing will be held until the total reaches $10.

Extended Care starts every day with free play in the gym. We move down to the cafeteria for a yummy snack. If you have homework, you’ll have to do it before you have free play. First graders do their homework in the cafeteria, while grades 2-8 may go to the library for a while to get their work done. Extended Care has three closets full of fun things to do…games, crafts, toys and more. If the weather is nice, we may go out to the playground.
Our staff gives out Golden Tickets to the kids for positive behavior. The tickets go into a can and every day before snack we have a drawing. If your ticket is pulled you will get to pick out a prize, go to the front of the snack line and have a chance to guess how many candies are in the monthly container. At the end of the month, the closest guess wins the container of candy!
