I am following my calling as a Catholic teacher at SJA, bringing a variety of experiences to educate the next generation, and using my background to give my middle school students a true Renaissance education. I’ve taught for over 20 years and have my B.A. in Fine Arts and my Masters of Education.
After escaping from communist Czechoslovakia and going through European refugee camps, my family and I found freedom in America. We came to New York City and became American citizens. As a new teacher graduate, I later served in the U.S. Navy. My husband and I came to Oregon where we raised our three children, all of whom are Catholic school graduates. After we opened our hi-tech placement and recruiting company, I was also appointed by the U.S. State Department and the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic for Oregon and Washington, a diplomatic post which I have held for the past 20 years. I helped to bring streetcars from the Czech Republic to the city of Portland, was a small business owner, a principal of a small high school, and worked of a number of companies including Nike International.
