House System

St John the Apostle prides itself in its community building within the school. SJA is divided into four different “houses”, each house includes students from all grades. Every student is paired with a buddy (an older student with a younger student). They sit with their buddy at weekly Mass and also participate in Spirit Days together which includes eating lunch, reading books and participating in community service projects.

The House system promotes student achievement and builds bonds across age groups as students strive to succeed both individually and as a team. House Points can be awarded for service, acts of kindness, leadership, behavior, and other student goals above and beyond the norm especially in a Christ-like manner. Every month a house is chosen as a winner and awarded with free dress for a day. There is also a yearly winner with the House getting their name on a trophy and a reward party for the whole house.

Once a week, (Fridays) students are allowed to wear their House t-shirt to school.

House Leadership – 8th grade prefects are chosen for each house yearly through an application process and represent their house in student council activities.
