I always try to keep in mind the amazing capacity kids have for enthusiastic learning and individual expression through music. By age eleven, I got deeply interested in music and discovered my love of the flute. I attended the California Institute of the Arts and received a BFA with an emphasis in Flute Performance and World Music. I also hold certifications in Orff Shulwerk, Kodaly and Music Together education. I am in the process of completing my Master’s in Music Education at Portland State University.
My professional teaching background consists of working as a choral and instrumental musical director in schools, community programs, abroad at an international school and as a private instructor for the past twenty years.
I am also the happy multi-tasking mom of two musical boys, one who plays the drums and the other who plays the bass guitar. Together with my guitar-playing husband, we love going on family adventures, biking and camping, as well as playing in our family band!
